OUR BOT, TWITCH, AND ITS FUNCTIONS:
BALL LAUNCHER Twitch utilizes a launching mechanism similar to that of a tennis ball/baseball launcher. Instead of 2 spinning wheels, our launcher only uses one on the bottom of the launcher (backspin). The turret is mounted on a servo to control the direction the launcher shoots. It also has an IR receiver mounted at the top to detect the opposing team's power supply. BALL RECEIVER After requesting a new ball from the re-supply depot with an IR emitter, the ball is dropped into one of 6 circles in a rotating ball holder. At any given time, the holder can hold up to 5 balls. Rotating counterclockwise drops a ball into the launcher prior to shooting a target. BALL LOADER Once a ball is dropped into the launcher and ready for launch, a servo motor pushes the ball up to the spinning wheel in the launcher to propel the ball toward the target. REAR BUMPER Twitch has a rear bumper that triggers a switch on impact. The triggered switch indicates when Twitch has arrived at the re-supply depot. |
